If anyone is looking for the connectors to use, I've put together a list of them from digikey. I hope they're all correct. If anyone from UDOO would like to confirm these, that would be great. Also, just an idea... Maybe putting together a small pack of connectors to buy off your website from your suppliers??? I thought I had the right ones amongst the bits and pieces here at home, but all the wrong sizes.

You can pick up some of the jst cables from places like sparkfun.com as well.

Thanks for taking the time to research this!
It's just what I needed to add a RTC battery.

    For this one you'll need a FFC/FPC 16 circuits, 0.50mm Pitch. For example: MOLEX - 15020-0171 http://www.mouser.com/ds/2/276/01502001 ... 227674.pdf

    Thanks Ralphie, top man.

This info ought to make it's way into the official documentation and/or Wiki.

Just a note - BE CAREFUL when ordering these! Most of them do NOT include the crimp connector pins, these are just the part numbers for the housings themselves. The pins are sold separately.

Ok, any idea/indication what AWG size crimp connectors we should get for J1, J12, J24 and J25?

Thanks for the great list. Just assembling an order now, but there's one bit I'm not sure about. Do you have any idea what voltage is available at the J4 fan header ? Looking at the wiring diagram, J4 has a PWM on the ground side and it's Vin from VCC_SW which looks like 5V.

Thank you this is very useful i can now order whats needed for my case design thanks to this. as i needed just a few more pieces of the puzzle and knowing the connectors is a lot better then digging the calipers out, measuring it then hunting what I think it is on digikey then maybe getting it wrong...

I've updated the list which should make it easier to order from. I've added all the crimp sizes available for each connector type and selected the ones that suit the best range of gauges in the total in the 'Min Ord' column. You'll probably want to get a lot more crimps while you're ordering them. Save the hassle of stuffing them up and having to order another lot in. I've at least doubled my order - if not more of each plug/crimp - in case I need to make other cables up later as well.

The 'Std Pkg' column is the minimum amount they supply per item.

Also, to make your own hook up cables try this link.
    http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?FV=fff40016,fff802fc,ffec2a3a

These are the crimps that should fit all the Harwin type plugs. Just double check the part numbers at the bottom of the individual plug pages has 952-2157-1-ND on it.

Sorry the list is a JPG. couldn't figure out an easy way to add the list in here that could be read easily enough. Hope this helps out.

PS @kIntera. That's what I had to do. Figured I got mine in early, might as well do it and save someone else the hassle. @andcmp, thanks for confirming them all.

Ralphie: awesome. Could you also add maybe a female USB-B jack to that list (since I'm assuming most people would want that to hook up to other end of the cable going into J24).

I also found a number of pre-done jacks with wires at Sparkfun for the JST-2 and JST-4 ports. Once I receive them and verify that they're the right ones I'll post that list as well. Might be a bit easier for those who don't want to deal with crimping...

Ok, here's what I got from Sparkfun and I can confirm that they all will fit. These are a little easier as they already come with wires attached and the connectors crimped and such.

    http://www.sparkfun.com

1 - $0.95 - PRT-09914 - JST Jumper 2 Wire Assembly (can be used for the battery or SATA power)
1 - $0.95 - PRT-08670 - Jumper Wire - JST Black Red (can be used for the battery or SATA power)
    1 - $1.50 - PRT-09916 - JST Jumper 4 Wire Assembly (for the USB)
    1 - $2.95 - CAB-10177 - Panel Mount USB to 4-pin Female Header Cable - 6' (to make an internal USB port)

Hope this helps for those who don't want to mess with crimping but don't mind a little light soldering...

(NOTE! If you order one of the JST-2's and it doesn't seem to want to go in, take a pair of pliers to the little tab that runs down the center and "crush" it a bit so it'll fit into the slot on the socket on the board. The JST-2 with the twisted wires worked fine for me, but the one with the straight wires required this "mod".)

There may be slight differences i guess

Yeah, I think there's just slight variations in the thickness of that little slot + guide rail. squishing the guide rail with pliers fixed it... The one with the twisted wires went right in... Just wanted to let folks know so they wouldn't get mad if it didn't go right in.

Looking to put together 3d USB on J24 just need to confirm

The data sheet for the USB Cable I have shows:
    1-+5
    2-Data -
    3-Data +
    4-GND

    I think J24 is:
    1 +5
2-DN (same as Data -?) This is what I need to confirm!!
    3-DP (same as Data+?)
    4-GND

and unlike a standard serial I don't cross the Data lines.

Wish I could confirm, but so far I've had no success making this cable work... I don't think it hurts anything if you cross the DN/DP lines (other than it not working) so if they don't, just swap them.

    Many thanks for that information.

I purchased a couple of those https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8670, and made a battery for the clock:
