Hey Udoo, I'm a newb into Arduino and am building a project needing a strong network ability. In my search to make my project, I stumbled onto Udoo and quickly (carelessly) ordered a dual basic. Never used Arduino Due yet, but at least this purchase will allow me to skip right over it and also get some RPi experience as well. I'm very new to coding, which should make learning the Udoo a hoot, but I'm committed, especially if I know the Udoo can give my project the communication it needs. Anyways, hello all! By chance, are there a decent set of threads or tutorials to get me started? My Dual Basic should arrive in about 4 days and I want to get a head start on the setup. I am a designer of Internet security protocols with a wide range of interests in the security field based in the Boston US area. My primary interest in UDOO is to automate the pair of hero scale Dalek props I have built and occasionally take to conventions in the area. The idea of a Rapsberry Pi + Arduino seemed like a good one to me for a long time. Real Time O/S always disappoint. Much better to dedicate one CPU to getting the timing right on low level I/O and another to doing calculation. So I bought a couple on the Kickstarter. My other interest in Raspberry Pi is as a low cost 'disposable' computer for cryptography projects. I already use them for some of my work as an expert witness. I can create an SD card with a completely known build of the O/S, make some observations and archive them. I can even turn in the machine itself as an exhibit. Everything is very nicely controlled. What I would really like however is a cheap single board computer with two fast Ethernet connections that can be booted from an OS on SD card. Wifi and SATA would be a bonus but not essential. This would allow the creation of a range of open source security firewall type devices for home use. This would allow for configurations such as automatically setting up VPN and TLS tunnels to known endpoints, Even better would be the ability to put an inboud/outbound telephone socket on so it can be used to support a local PBX (e.g. Asterisk).
I saw one USB extension board some time back with two ethernet interfaces, wifi and something else. Sadly can't find any link right now. Update: It is Premoboard - http://www.premoboard.com/en/.
HI, I am Saurabh and I am from India.I am an application engineer and work for a major semiconductor company .I have been living happily with pandaboard ES until one day I came to know that it will die soon.It made me sad and I then moved to beagle family.It hasn't been long with beagle when i started to think to have an affair with Udoo which I promise to commit for life as long as long it serve me with all my embedded application needs from the h/w as well s/w perspective.I want to live , try ,practice and develop new application ideas on it with or without the support of OS. With advent of Arduino and their shields I am also looking to create a host<---> target relationship between Udoo(host) and the later for creating the application portable across all s/w platforms. Hi everyone, Manfred van der Voort is my name. Living in Wageningen, The Netherlands. My background is in electronics, system programming (very long time ago practiced with assembler and C) and IT. Besides that I love to design and make crafmanship furniture and coastal sailing. It was this last passion which has brought me to the UDOO community. Because I would like to develop a Maritime Instrument & Display Controller, mainly based on Open Source software like OpenCPN. For this idea UDOO with the Neo has really a amazing piece of hardware and software with all the goods for running maritime applications and interfacing with all the weird maritime instruments and sensors out there. Quite popularly said, with the Neo I would like to bring the Internet of Things (IoT) concept to the maritime small vessel arena.

Hi there! I'm a biomedical engineer from Mexico working on a semiconductor company and also a part-time lecturer for EE and Biomedical engineers on subjects like digital design, microcontrollers architectures and OS/RTOSes, in which we use Udoo as our platform! I've develped some guides and simple C codes for getting started on embedded linux, I'll be posting those later this month!

Is an introductory course to RTOS and OS. Half of the course we use a Freescale FRDM-KL25Z to develop a small scheduler the second half we use Udoo to build embedded Linux applications, mainly server-client with BSD sockets. Basically the students take some other projects they've done with MCU's and add communication with the Udoo, which is used as bridge between the smartphone connected to internet and the end node. Unfortunately our University does not have a public website for the courses or syllabus but here's the overall biomedical engineer program: http://www.uag.mx/licenciatura/biomedica/ For Linux material, I'm re-using information from Free-electrons and other lectures plus my own experience
I'm a software developer living in New England where I've been playing with hardware & devices since the days of Lego Mindstorms. I haven't delved very far despite all that time, as I'm terrible at coming up with ideas for projects. An LED Cube here, a microView animation there, and a bevy of arduino boards 'n clones lying around looking for things to do. I delved a bit into Smalltalk while working with Lego, but my software skills have all come post-graduation, and my networking skills are abysmal -- I'm hoping with Udoo that I'll be able to at least create a little node on my network and maybe, down the road, build it out into a rover or something. For the moment, just trying to get it on the network. My avatar's my dog, in the snow, if that wasn't pathetically obvious.
Hi I'm Paul from the UK long career as an Electronics Engineer starting with valves back in the day. Specialised in embedded control systems and power electronics. i have recently been forced into early retirement through ill health but keeping myself occupied by tinkering with medical instruments to monitor my condition. Ive tinkered with a few platforms trying to find right one for my design and looks like the neo might fit the bill.
