Hi everyone, first of all congratulation for this fantastic project. What do you think about trying to install the hackintosh on the Udoo x86 If i received the computer before November i can start testing What do you think about that? Bye Diogo
Dear @diogopms, first of all thanks for your enthusiasm! In a second place, for what I've understood so far, we cannot give official support to a UDOO X86-based Hackintosh as a company because it violates some Apple license. Of course I'm happy if you can prove me wrong! P.S.: this doesn't mean that I'm closing this topic or censoring it. On the contrary, I hope the community will come out with a fabulous UDOO X86-based Hackintosh
For the members that already received their UDOO X86 Can you try to install https://www.tonymacx86.com/ and check the result for me I would appreciate Regards, Diogo
I agree that it would be great if the UDOO x86 is capable of running as a 'Hackintosh'. It would be a capability that I could make use of. I had been thinking of trying to run OSX under VirtualBox on the UDOO x86, but being able to run at the direct hardware level would be even better.
Has anyone tried this yet? I would love to be able to get OSX running on the board. Feedback on any failed attempts would also be useful to help me avoid wasting time when my UDOO x86 Ultra finally gets delivered.
Be interested in any feedback on what does (not) work as I am interested in doing this myself. I have in the past managed to get MacOS running in VMs but not in full Hackintosh mode. Please keep any notes on the exact steps you needed to go through and also what versions of MacOS you try. I have time over the weekend to also try things out so it would be nice not to duplicate effort unnecessarily. I already have some MacOS VMs I run on my main desktop PC using Windows 10 and VirtualBox. I might have a try at getting this combination to work on the UDOO x86 as a fallback position.
Prepared a Hackintosh USB Stick - UDOO won't boot from it. Will wait for the fan to appear because of the temperature ...
Even if you get macOS to run on the UDOO the user experience will be extremely bad because there are no drivers for the integrated graphics card on celeron processors. See https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/macos-on-intel-celeron.206734/ For anyone wanting to try installing macOS you could try following this https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...l-el-capitan-on-pentiums-and-celerons.182328/
