Hello, I'm looking to turn my Udoo Bolt into a NAS and I was wondering if the 1.06RC or 1.07 BIOS updates have fixed the issue where the Bolt doesn't come back on a power outage. When the power goes out, I have to manually hit the power button in order for it to come back on, and this is definitely a deal breaker for turning it into a NAS. If someone has updated their BIOS could verify that this has been fixed, that would be great. Thank you, jorgy
From the BIOS History (1.08 is the latest released) it looks like the issue was already fixed in 1.06: - added always ON Power Failure Resume Type; Why not just update and look (I have no Bolt)? Code: 1.08 [2020-04-23] - Label change - Changed default setup for Fan Thermal management - Corrected bug in temperature hysteresis (Was managed in tenth of grades) 1.07.1 [2020-03-19] - Solved issue "board hang during boot from G3 state" - Added setup option to enable/disable 3 wire fan enhanched RPM measurement (Disabled by default) - Firmware 021 1.06 [2020-01-20] - first official BIOS; - added always ON Power Failure Resume Type; - Realtek UEFI driver / PXE boot support added; - first MEC complete versions; - HWM (FAN/temperature/voltages); - port80 serial redirection; - completely tested MailBox mechanism. - enhanced setup and init; - known issues: - Linux video driver can hang after several Suspend to RAM/resume repeated operations (usually 25); - some nVME devices sporadically can cause boot hanging
I had installed the 1.06RC4 (https://udoo.org/download/files/UDOO_BOLT/UEFI_update/UDOOBOLT_C40-UEFI_Update_rel106RC04.zip) BIOS update and verified that it did NOT fix this issue for me. I will try the 1.08 update tomorrow and see if that does. I'm a little leery about just trying the updates, as there have been some reports of some hung systems, but nonetheless I will try and report back here my results.
I updated my Bolt to 1.08 and can verify that it is NOT fixed with respect to turning back on after a power cut. It is running CentOS 8.1.1911, though that shouldn't matter, as this is a BIOS issue.
Bingo! Thanks Waltervl, that was the trick. My Bolt now resumes properly after a power outage just as needed. Thanks again!
Guys, can you post what are new defaults for fan control in 1.08 Bios? I would appreciate all fan settings (ac0/ac1 and others on fan control screen)
