Hi, I got Udoo and followed the get-started instructions (http://www.udoo.org/getting-started/#tab2) to step 3: After I turned on the Udoo (the lights on the board lighted up), I saw nothing on the monitor. Is there anything I can do to debug it? I'm connecting it to a Apple 27' thunderbolt display through a HDMI-MDV adapter. I installed Linux Quad version on the SD card. By the way Mac does not recognize the SD card after I installed the OS on it. Wonder if there is anything I did wrong? Thanks a lot!!!
I dus encouter the same probleem. i geve several monitors, and a fresh installation Works inkt with Ine monitor, an a tv with HDMI input. From there i hope hou can adjust via udoo config the proper monitor. It is normaal that hou os grom Apple cant read the udoo os, totaly defferent os.
Hello all, 1) @zhunping, have you tried also other HDMI monitor to exclude other problems? 2) @ivan: try to verify the sha1 of the image you downloaded. Anyway, try to reflash the OS and verify if now it works. Cheers!
@Andrea Roval. thanks for the reply. I have not tried any other HDMI monitors, I'm thinking about ordering an Udoo monitor. By the way, I followed the trouble-shooting post (http://www.udoo.org/faq-items/why-my-udoo-wont-boot/) and connected Udoo to Mac using serial port. It returned nothing which falls into the 4-th category. It says it means the image was not correctly flashed. I tried a few times always got the same problem. I think the SD card is ok because the first time I plugged it into the Mac I can read the content on it. I wonder if buying an Udoo monitor sounds like the best way to try to solve it at this point? Thanks!
Hi Andrea, I've got the screen and I plug it in, it still shows nothing. So what did is: 1. flushed Ubuntu onto a 8gb microSD following the instructions in the getting started area. 2. connected power and the 7' screen to Udoo nothing shows up. I haven't tried to connect keyboard / mouse / network to it yet, but I guess it should already boot up and show something. Do you think I need to put more than just the microSD card + power + monitor to see the system booting? Thanks.
Hi, if you use a serial/usb connection from your UDOO to your MAC and e.g. the MAC SerialTools App, you should be able to connect to the very first boot prompt. So please use setting of 115200-N-8-1 and connect BEFORE powering. The SerialPort for the device should be SLAP_USBtoUART http://www.w7ay.net/site/Applications/Serial%20Tools/ If you plug-in POWER you should IMMEDIATLY see the boot process If this does not happen, your SD-CARD ist NOT FLASHED correctly. ---- Most of the time, the BOOTLOADER is wrong. Please check wether you have a DUAL or a QUAD board and reflash at least the bootloader. Download appropriate U-BOOT from http://www.udoo.org/downloads/#tab2 Follow guide to update U-BOOT: see paragraph "Install the U-Boot" near end of the page http://www.elinux.org/UDOO_creating_a_b ... d_binaries ----- Whatever OS you want to start, your SD-Card must begin with the BOOTLOADER and the debug output. Good luck Tom
You must configure the u-boot to work with LVDS screens, as the default video output is set to HDMI. Since in your case it fails, my advice is to configure it via SSH: - Connect UDOO via ethernet to your router - Discover your UDOO's IP like shown in this tutorial http://udoo.org/tutorial/find-ip-address/ - Connect via SSH, like in this tutorial http://udoo.org/tutorial/connecting-via-ssh/ (user root, password ubuntu) - Set LVDS output, with UDOO's configuration tool from command line: udoo-config boot_video ldb LDB-WVGA - Then reboot and enjoy your 7'' panel! Let me know how it goes
