Some people like me are old, i'm a retired technicien.. But not to old to learn, for those who doubt. I bought myself a 1. UDOO Camera; 2. UDOO board Quad; 3. And The 15" scno touch screen. A nice start, I say it myself. This is what I learned so far: 1. Compatibel with arduino Eh, yes but only with due. My sensors working with 5Volt. (I have a Mega arduino board.) UDOO 3,3V... 2. Running as a mediacenter; and a domotica system. No can do. my 15"inch screen works only with Lubuntu. Not with Linux, not woth android, 3. XBMC or OpenElec, I can only use my HDMI output for sound. More than 3 day's I try to work on it. My fingers are full of blisters, because I have to format again and again the micro chip. Compatible wit Raspberrry? Why doesnt Raspberry programm's not running? Linke XMBC??? It take weeks for a reply here on this support forum. As I go true the forum, several item are waiting for a reply for an answer. Look guys, I hope you enjoy your beach holliday, but I think it's time that you get to work. $130 + +$150 + $39 => $319 99€ + 110€ + 29€ => 238€ I'm willing to pay for something that works. There is one question, I would like to answer: am I pissed? YES, I AM!!! Please, Give me a working media center, or provide me a WORKING procedure. The pinout of this 15" screen looks the same as the pinout of an HDMI. Are they compatibal? If so, I will tweak this screen that I can still used. answer please. Do you get the feeling that I'm Pissed? no, I'm already four stages further! Ivan
Hi Ivan, I am sorry to hear about your experiences because the differ so much to my own ones. First of all let me just introduce, that I am NOT AN OFFICIAL from seco or udoo itself but just a user and customer as you are. I am for sure like to help you getting your board run as you wish so this is why I am here also as a moderator. Please define a goal for what you are looking because it seems to me that you tried and disappointed in a number of goals. So please choose, for what should we have a look first? 1.) Arduino compatibility? 2.) Domotica system? (what is domotica? I have never heared about) 3.) Getting 15" Screen running ? 4.) XBMC Mediacenter? 5.) Selling / Buying your parts? Hopefully I can give you some hints. Tom
Well, For starters I would like an mediacenter. Either XMBC, Yocto, OpenElec of any kind.... Now I have a raspberry. And thats works fine. Exept I need my television for that. Therefore I bought The 15,6" screen (no touch) If that could work, I would be happy. By the way, if it doesn't work as an mediacenter, I will look into the technical data of this screen, and compare it to and HDMI pinout. (I'm (was) a technicien. So that at least something is usefull. ps, at the end of the week I will be hospitalized, for (maybe, a long period). And There I would use my udoo-mediacenter.... I cannot get out of bed, so with a bluetoothmouse I can change of radio.... But I cannot take my TV with... I do hope that you understand my position
Hi Ivan, I do not own a 15,6 screen so sorry about questions to that but just for my knowledge: 1.) You have (once) run Lubuntu image already? Board is function? 2.) 15,6 screen ist working on Lubuntu? It is connected via JVDS Connector (CN13)? 3.) You have output (graphic desktop) on HDMI when running Lubuntu? I just ask to get current hardware and function situation on your side. My suggestion in case of your bad hospitalization is, that I would prepare an image for your to download with a running XBMC so that in best case you only have to put this image on your SD-Card. For XBMC you will use it for a.) listening music b.) viewing videos not for LiveTV or Streaming? correct? How would you operate your portable media center? Do you connect a (small) keyboard an mouse? Is this already working when using Lubuntu image? Thanks for your answer Tom
Ivan, I had a look on your other posts here at the forum. Don't let my question getting you angry but for your usecase, why haven't you bought an easy (Andoid) PAD with an OTG Adapter for USB devices? Wouldn't that make much more sense than trying the maker boards - I mean this is all more "experimental" than just using devices and install software. In your case I would take this in mind again if this would not be the best for you in case of your hospitalization. Tom
@Tom. Lbuntu is woring fine with the 15". I can play music. Youtube is not working. I even use a Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse, from dell. On starting Lubuntu, I have to configure the proper screen with the UDOO tool. The second part. Hospital. I don't want the be "a sick person". I want to do something. With my raspberry I did several things. Now, because technic is a "virus" thats frows on you. I had to choose between Banana Pro or Udoo. As serval things work in my home with an arduino, is would be a dream to have a screeen where everthings happens. A central point, for domotica, for radiostatioen, for... Ideas enough. A prommising board, so look it to me.... But, for now, a pain in my wallet. But UDOO is a poor thing. much ado about nothing shakespeare I opened a ticket, help me towards a working media center, or refund. (ps ypu don't make me angry. I"m angry because a feel heavy deceived.) Somwhere in this forum stated "UDOO TEAM wake up" Ivan
Hi Ivan, git the message. I have not looked at it but did you have seen the new blog message: http://www.udoo.org/kodi-helix-available-for-udoo-quad/ Hopefully it is just what you are looking for. Otherwise I can stepover and try to help with an image. Tom
I try it immediately. I'll keep you informed. Thanks for your patience. It can also serve others. Ivan
It works perfectly, ON MY TV, image and sound. I cannot connect to my 15,6" screen..... And extern speakers stay sillence... I can hardly take my TV with me, can I? I changed the file also, as subscribed somwhere in this forum. Nope...
in an attempt to try sommething, I did upgraded to kodi 8. But then nothing worked anymore... Only the green onboard 'I-Get-Tension' led. Downgraded back to kodi 06.
Sound can be send only over HDMI for now until we get driver for vt1613 analog output driver. Official imx6 image can work or not - it doesn't have support for udoo.
Hi Ivan, what about a HDMI / LVDS Adapter by the moment? http://www.pollin.de/shop/dt/ODc3OTgxOT ... _LVDS.html Maybe this fits your needs and you can also grab the audio from the board. Tom
You may also need some cable for DVI and Audio like: http://www.svideo.com/dviaudio2hdmi.html http://www.amazon.de/Wentronic-Adapter- ... +dvi+audio http://www.amazon.de/DELOCK-Kabel-DVI-H ... +dvi+audio
The drivers of LCD driver I found them in usr => Lib => SCREEN.so I tryed all the different drivers, no luck. If sombody that smarter then me, please proceed....
All of this crossed my mind. But the problem still exists. An HDMI has 4 channels, this screen has for channels as well. Other pins are likey. I want to see is I can change (I need a female connecor like the screen) this screen towards a HDMI, without the full HDMI function....
The udoo screen Has a resolution of Resolution 1366X768 24bit In the technical data of this board, I can't find such a resolution... (at least, I didn't find it) WXGA
This cout also be a alternatieve http://hdmipi.com/ btw, i was wrong the board cab handle the resolution of the UDOO screen.
Hi Ivan, no, I am definitly not sure but in case of ~€10 I would give it a try from my personal point of view.
