    Download it now: http://download.udoo.org/files/UDOO_Quad/udoobuntu2beta3-quad-desktop.zip

    Major changes since beta 2:
    * Removed (not so much) useful packages saving RAM.
    * Kernel updated to 3.14.56
    * Device tree can be configured using Preferences -> Device Tree editor, enabling additional devices (like UARTs, PWMs, 1Wire, etc) over GPIOs pins
    * 1-Wire GPIO master added to kernel (tested against the DS18B20 temperature sensor)
    * Configured the PWMs Linux-side (enable them using Device Tree editor)

    Please continue to report issues and wishes here or on GitHub, so we can release a final version soon!
    - udoobuntu bug tracker
    - device tree editor bug tracker

    About the Device Tree editor:
    By default, all the pins in the external pinout are configured as GPIOs; this tool allows you to change this configuration without the need to rebuild the kernel/device tree.
    Open Preferences -> Device Tree editor and enter your password (default: udooer). On "available features", drag a funcionality and drop it over an available pin. Pins compatible with a feature are highlighted in white. When done, click "Apply configuration" and reboot.

    It is now December, no new version of Linux Ubuntu for the UDOO quad. When is the next possible date of release?

    I to am curious if this is still being worked on as it seems like much of the focus has transitioned to the Neo. Is there any update?

    So, not to sound pushy or anything. But, are we to expect that the UDOO Quad/Dual are completely done with new developments? It would be nice if we could get an update. I'm anxiously awaiting a new release for a big project I'm working on and getting ready to publish on this site. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I installed this new Beta version of udoobuntu (v2 Beta 3) and it boots OK.
    But it dows nor recognize my HDMI monitor. It starts with a default resolution of 640x480-60.
    My monitor is 1920 x 1200 or 1080 or 1020. (Samsung 24" monitor, DVI input.)

    I can't seem to find the correct files for entering the monitor configuration. It's different from udoobunti v1.
    Cmd xrandr responses with the 640x480-60 resolution. But where can i specify my own resolution for xrandr?

    Anyone who can shed a light on this? Kind regards, Bert

    Wifi chip in Udoo supports AP mode, i've checked and use it in AP mode, i can create an AP and connect to it...unfortunately i can not use iptables for internet fowarding...
    Anyway, we can even use an usb wifi dongle :)

    The support to boot from Sata would be great too, I hope you have the opportunity to add it the next release.
    I have a UDOO Quad and I'm trying to get it boot fram Sata, but I couldn't.
    Currently the boot always stops on "Waiting for root device /dev/sda2..."
    It sounds like the Sata driver is loaded after the root file system is mounted so the boot hungs.
    I hope you can fix it in the new kernel .

    Udoobuntu 1.1 supports sata boot but it not reliable as the system freezes very often.
    The new Udoobuntu 2 is much better and very stabile but it has a lack of features at the moment.
    I think now it is the time to fully support the "older" platforms (Quad in my case)
    Thank you
    F.

    Dear Theflorianmaas,
    We plan to include SATA support for UDOO QUAD in the future anyway. Anyway since you are trying to tackle the problem yourself,
    probably the problem is in
    /etc/fstab
    you probably should modify the root mounting point as the sda (SATA drive).

    Thank you for your reply.
    I will try but I am not fully convinced.
    As soos as I have spare time I will try to recompile the kernel setting these two options to "y". It is likely the drivers are created as modules rather that static inside the kernel.

    CONFIG_SATA_AHCI_PLATFORM=m
    CONFIG_AHCI_IMX=m

    I will let you know

    OK, I get the UDOO logo on my monitor. No boot still. Serial debug log says can't find zImage, trys to boot from the Ethernet. Then gives up. Gpart says there are issues with the FAT32 partition. Trying the EU version.....
