Chromium Web browser is giving me some grief. Unable to connect to www.google.ca or www.google.com because of this SSL connection error. Deleted the chromium folder in .config and restarted chromium but result was same error. Tried also uninstall and then reinstall but the error persists. I can access other sites but not Google. Any idea what is causing this error.

I noticed it too, but also ignored it. What is the alternative, Firefox, Opera?

Really not sure what would be an option. My habit is to have 2 computers on most of the time when working on a project. One with an open browser for research/testing and the second one (UdooNeo) that is the target computer (Web Server) for the project. So it just so happened the other day I tried to do a search on the UdooNeo and got started down the rabbit hole again chasing a problem that I thought I had caused.

I have seen this issue too, but thought that I just messed up my SD card. Tomorrow I will investigate..

Just an update. We found that something prevented Chromium to accept SSL certificates after some packages were updated. Using 2.0 RC1 without any upgrade, Chromium works with SSL. As soon as you run dist-upgrade, it won't.
The same problem is there with Chromium 45. I have found the latest (for Trusty) Chromium 48 fixes the problem. I'm working on it. Currently we filed this bug as blocking for the next release, which is delayed for this reason.

An Ubuntu update has modified the management of SSL certifications and we're working to fix this problem with a Chromium update.

I Installed xubuntu 14.04 LTS 32 bit and Chrome 42.0.2311.90.
I have problems with access to google sites.
Then I reinstalled xubuntu 16.04 LTS 64 bit and Crome 64bit the problem disappeared, but 64 is too heavy for my computer
I reinstalled xubuntu 16.04Lts 32 bit and chrom 42.0.2311.90 32bit, and again have a problem : "SSL connection error"

This problem only occurs on google, youtube.
    All other sites work perfectly
