    Hello,

did somebody try if Netflix is working on a Linux based distribution? Somebody on the Kickstarter page mentioned it does not work for him (on windows 10) because of some kind of DRM module: "For some reason Netflix refuses to play video with all the help pages pointing to a drm option which is already enabled..."

Also, if possible, can somebody check if Amazon Prime Video is working in HD?

Ìf not, this would be a huge bummer...

    Thanks & BR,
    Onek

That Kickstarter comment was about Windows 10 crammed into 8 GB eMMC, not Linux.

Exactly. That's why I obviously asked about Linux and not Windows.

I am running Netflix flawlessly on an Ubuntu based x86_64 Linux machine right now, as you said with Google Chrome. Just wondering about that DRM module. On Amazon Prime Video I can't get HD because it somehow checks hardware and installed software and, for whatever reason, is not satisfied with the results.

Would be great if somebody already having a board could test this.

I can test when I get home. I have Linux Mint installed. I see no reason why it wouldn't work, the Udoo x86 is just like any other desktop x86 when it comes to CPU.

CPU is not the problem - the problem could be all the DRM crap required by some video services.

I'm guessing it's the hdmi/dp port on the device.

My Ubuntu 64-bit laptop doesn't run Netflix either, due to DRM. The simple Chromebooks do.

Linux Mint 18.1 running on the Udoo x86 running Chrome Version 58.0.3029.81 (64-bit).
The Udoo is hooked to a 1080p monitor via a HDMI to VGA adapter. So there is no DHCP, but the max I've gotten on Netflix was 720p.
Both Netflix and Amazon Prime work great otherwise.

Edit: I can try hooking it up to a 4k tv via hdmi and see how it works out tomorrow. Will post with an update.

Thank you kindly, that's great news. I was worried for a second there - streaming is one of the tasks Udoo x86 should do for me.

I know the thread is for Linux, but I just want to comment that I can use netflix without problem in Windows 10 Pro with HDMI
