Hello all, i just got my UDOO x86 board and until now i am really happy about it. I was just wondering how could i use the IR port, i don't see it on Device Manager on Windows 10. I would like to use it with KODI, but at least first of all i must be sure the system can see it. Thanks a lot
I found only "Infrared Support" under "Power menu" and i have enabled it, but reading the docs it seems it's related only to power states.
If you check the schematics, you can see they use for IR and CEC the stm32. So we will need some docu for the protocol from the UDOO guys to make some firmware for the IR and CEC, or we just wait until UDOO provide a solution. Correct me if I am wrong (I have a "man flu" right now ).
I read somewhere the docs are still not complete so maybe sooner or later we'll have news about it. For the moment i can live without using IR, but it will be a nice thing if it will be implemented (OS side at least)
Yes, im waiting for it too, want to use the udoo x86 as a HTPC (Windows 8.1 based) so IR and CEC is for me important, too. Because they have an hardware implementaiton, I think it is just a matter of time.
So there are no drivers for IRDA/CEC yet. Message from UDOO support: Thanks for contacting UDOO Customer Care, I'm really sorry, they are still in development and there is no official ETA at the moment. We're working on them.
Udoo gods and @Laura Now that my windows 10 system is working well in my office, I'm focussing on getting my media server (Ubuntu/Kodi) side of things working in my living room. Any idea how development is coming on the IRDA/CEC drivers? If nothing else, maybe some ideas of a typical IR remote or blaster that will work with the board? Thanks!
