Hi Vpeter Do you have a Image with the latest 4.1.15 Kernel from Freescale and a 8.0.2 LibreElec build for due Quad?
No, I don't use this kernel. Only 3.14 from solidrun and 4.4, 4.8 and 4.10 from xbian. But for udoo I'm using only 3.14 (didn't update device trees for other versions). And why would you need any different kernel anyway?
Sorry for my late answer - lost a bit Track of Udoo. There a major Changes in the Version 4 Kernel. Like the self patching, better NFS support, Support for newer SMB, faster en- and decryption,... Also the latest Video Driver (and GPU SDK) needs this Kernel. I saw that your git repo is still active, did you tested the latest LibreElec 8.10 Beta with the new SMB implementation?
I'm sure there are lot of changes in kernel v4. And I already using 3 different versions of them. But not for Udoo because I had some issues (forgot what - I think it was something with LVDS display). No, I didn't use LibreElec 8.1.0. Will skip it because final version is on the way.
Hello there! First: Thank you for your work!!! Second: Anyone experiencing a Boot-Slpash Stuck? My Quad boots for the first time and tells me something like "Resizing.... and so on... wait for reboot". After the auto reboot the Quad stucks at the Libreelec Splash Screen. I wasn't able to pull any Logs due the missing of a Linux PC for mounting the ext Partition. Any hint or a tip what to do? Cheers
mkay, I will try some 7.x Versions. Maybe I'm lucky enough to get this bitch working. Thanks for answering!
Yes Sir. Yesterday evening I tried version 7.0.0 (Jarvis) and it works like charme. But having Krypton as an option would still be great.
@vpeter is there any update for the Udoo Quad and Kodi/LibreElec? For other imx6 devices there are newer roms availible
Untested: http://vpeter.libreelec.tv/imx6-solidrun-kernel-3.14/LibreELEC-imx6.arm-8.2.3-udoo-3.14-sr.img.gz
Many thanks I'll test it and come back to you. The 3.14 ist a rather old Kernel. Isn't there any update for the imx6 Plattform. I belive the Cubox i2/i4 and Hummingboard are using a newer Version From NXP there is a Kernel Version 4.9 out https://boundarydevices.com/imx-linux-kernel-4-9-for-nitrogen-platforms/ Hopefully Udoo Maintainers will upgrade soon
Old but working Yes, cubox is using 4.4 version. Just few days one guy used even 4.9. But because of very low imx6 users I don't do much anymore in this area because it is waste of my free time for almost nothing in return. That's why I keep 3.14 kernel for udoo because it works. There will be no more any updates in Kodi Krypton for imx6. For Kodi Leia there will be mainline linux used (4.14 or whatever will be at the time of making image).
