THANKS! (i dont need it but I'm sure lot of people want activate their fan at lower temp than 55° before the bios official update comes) EDIT: a md5sum of the file would be nice to check if the download isn't corrupted
To emphasise the warning provided by @x1800MODMY360x about the risk of bricking the board - Be aware that if this happens to your board as a result of flashing modded firmware, the board cannot be returned using our standard RMA procedure.
Hi again, @x1800MODMY360x I tried https://superuser.com/a/125399 to check the differences with the bios 0.02, but it seems there is more than two bytes of differences between the official bios and yours? could you explain where I maybe failed? @Laura: couldnt we have an official micropatch on actual bios? I think we dont bother if another announced features (like factory reset) isnt ready for now (if its not, maybe the team is already testing it?)
Ive added your quote to the main post, this is why I was hesitant to post this as I assume that it will break the warranty. Just be careful people It's not that simple, you have to extract the setting program from the bios. Decompile it to figure out where the fan settings is. Then hex change the program add it back to the bios and flash.
How can we get an official BIOS with respectable temperature thresholds. The manual states that it is the users responsibility to keep the heat-sink temp under 60 degrees, and the threshold of 55 degrees doesn't allow for much room of margin, and the CPU cores are 10-22 degrees hotter than that. Thanks, Robert
No offense to ModMy360, but also remember that you're downloading and installing a bios from some random guy on the internet. He could be Russian, and know about your plans to use the Udoo for voting machines for all you know. The BIOS hack is very tempting though...
None Taken, I'll agree on you about trusting a random file on the internet Here is a pic of the changed bios
