    Hello guy,
I try to install Ubuntu on my Udoo x86. I have insert a SD Card (16G ) and an usb key whish contains the ubuntu image. When I launch the install, I have the following message:

You need at least 8.6GB disk space for install ubuntu.

I don't know because my SD card has 16G.

    Thanks

    Jean

Be sure you have uefi version 1.03. If you have a Udoo with 8Gb eMMC it could be that Ubuntu (or you) is selecting that instead of your SD card.

jeans, did you get this working? I am in the same boat, trying to install Ubuntu with a live flash drive. Were you able to update the BIOS while using the live version?

To update uefi firmware is easier to make a bootable FreeDOS USB (with Rufus) and update from that. For instructions how to update with DOS see the PDF in the firmware update ZIP.

waltervl, thank you so much. The DOS approach was much simpler that fighting with the LINUX permissions and trying to find the file locations. Worked perfectly.
