Issue installing Windows 10 Pro on eMMC

I am trying to install Windows 10 Pro on an UDOO X86 Advanced Plus. I have created a bootable USB drive and started the installation process but when I get to the format screen I get a message saying "Windows can't be installed on this drive. (show details)." When I click that message a dialog window comes up and says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." I have looked in the BIOS and searched the internet but have not been able to find the issue. Please let me know what I should try or if it is not possible to install Windows 10 Pro on the eMMC.

Thank you waltervl! The error the original poster of that thread had is different than mine but posts #10, 11, and 12 of that thread helped.

I had to go into the boot manager in the BIOS and select the EFI USB Device as opposed to the Legacy one. See picture.

 

I have burned a Windows 10 USB but the installation windows won't open. How to fix this?

 

First gues is that you did not burn it correctly. Does the USB stick work on another PC?

 

In general,once the boot disk is successfully created, the computer is booted by it,if not......i suggest you check the Windows 10 USB.

 

I don't know what it means for burning correctly. I am using RMPrepUSB to burn ISO to USB.

The ISO is downloaded from Microsoft website

 

The process of downloading an ISO and burning it to a bootable USB is often going wrong. You can check if your USB is correctly burned by trying it on another PC to see if that one will boot from it. If that also fails you have to do the process (including new download!) all over again.

If so that,once again.Don't use RMPrepUSB, i know it is a free tool for burning Windows iso,but that doesn't mean you can make it.

Hi buddy, the best way will be to get a replacement via windows (similar version) as of now.

 

Did you try any out as of now?

 

Computer is not supporting booting format or image created does not have booting file.

 

I just Installed Windwos 10 Pro.
