With the new upgrade and HD compatibility, is there a list of drives somewhere. I want to check the list before I get a drive for my Quad.
Its a standard SATA II interface with standard data connector. Probably you need to pay more attention to the power aspects of the drive than connecting it. No issues with drivers under any of the Linuxes available. My recommendation is to get a cheap 60/64GB SSD.

There were some early issues around SATA devices... nothing that is current though (as far as I know). SATA Power Connector: I'm not talking about the amount of power, just the physical connection. JST-2 is the connector but you need that in combination with a standard SATA data cable... most people are buying a cheap SATA data cable with large 4 pin molex off e-bay and doing some cutting/soldering to put the JST-2 on. If you do a forum search you'll see that.
correct.. the sata power on the Udoo board side is a JST-2. you have several options: 1) buy the cables starter kit from Udoo - no soldering needed, ready to go. 2) get a JST-2 connector with cable attached from sparkfun - you'll have to splice it together with a 4-wire molex-->SATA power adaptor 3) get the connector and pins from an electronics shop like Newark, etc. and build tghe whole thing from scratch.
Why i can't use this power sata cable? There is a connector dc-in or i'm confusing? Thanks for the help.
I chose option 2, just waiting for Santa to deliver it. But that looks like it'll work. Where did you get it? Phil
