Hi, I received my Bolt (V8 8GB) last week and installed Windows 10. I want to use it as a headless file server. For access I want to use "Chrome Remote Desktop" (https://remotedesktop.google.com/access/). When accessing it, my bolt is "extremely" slow, the screen does not refresh when I am scrolling, ... so it is not usable. With Microsoft RDP it is working fluently. So I assume some driver issues. Is this a known issue or does anybody have a fix/idea for it? I really would like to use the Chrome Remote Desktop because I don't want to reconfigure my router... thx
Funny thing, I tested the Chrome Remote Desktop from my company network. Here it is working quite well... Now I suspect my home setup... I am using an ASUS RT-AC87U (Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13). Any ideas what could be the problem? thx
Other than MS RDP implementation ("vector graphics" to be delta updated to remote RDP display client), AFAIK, everyone else is using "virtual frame buffer bitmap" update method. Latter is rather inefficient thus some pkgs are using various optimization and compression techniques (some CPU based, some GPU based) to make their software implementation more or less acceptable. If you don;t see a specific software pkg is not satisfying, please try - switch to another pkg - ask the one you don't like to improve upon (e.g., ask them to support Ryzen APU better...)
