What's UDOO's setup recommendation for BIOS fan setting on the standard fan that shipped with the unit? The default setting using the new BIOS is still very noisy.
So did they add PWM based fan speed control and curve adjustment to the bios? Man this is from over half year ago..
Yup, we did! Please head to this topic to know more. Thank you! https://www.udoo.org/forum/threads/bios-beta-update-1-06rc04.30358/
I just received my UDOO BOLT V8 last week and I don't understand why you guy's complaining about fan noise. Go to BIOS enter Embedded controller Setting , under that setting enter Internal fan settings and change value of "Fan duty cycle (%) above AC1" from 100 to 50. Save BIOS setting and exit. The fan will quiet down after windows 10 2019 boot's up. From a distance of 12" (30 cm) is barely audible. my BIOS version is 1.05 R.C. 8. I do not know if fan will behave same way under Linux installation.
It seems, that my fan doesn't start if Duty cycle is below 100%... not so nice. If I have time I will open my case to see which revision of fan is inside..
Leave it on for a while after unit goes to sleep. The fan will go back >50%. It's a bad BIOS. BTW, I am on BIOS Version 1-06rc04.30358.
Top Quark are you saying BIOS version is 1.05 R.C. 8 is bad? In what way? Please explain. how about version1.05 R.C.13
Juzio, I have not tried BIOS 1.05 RC8 or 13. Udoo is recommending 1.06 RC4 because that is the version that will be officially supported. Any updates after that will be from 1.06 RC4 so I did not plan to try other BIOS versions.
