Hi @ all, my UDOO quad does not recognize a 2.5" hard drive connected via SATA. I am using the power supply provided in the starter kit as well as the SATA power cable that came with it. The drive does spin up on UDOO and it works fine in a different computer. I tried three different SATA data cables, they should all be ok. I've had this issue both under Ubuntu 12.04 and openmediavault. An USB-attached hard drive doesn't cause any trouble. Any ideas? Hope it's not a hardware defect in an otherwise awesome product!
Thank you for your answer! It's a Western Digital WD3200BEVT Scorpio Blue 320GB I grabbed from my old laptop, which according to the manufacturer, draws 5V. When I used the printenv command in uboot, the drive audibly "worked" (meaning it sounded like a functional drive reading/writing data), so I'm pretty sure there is no hardware issue... Then I also tried running sata init / sata info in uboot, but still without success, the drive just won't show up. Thanks for any further help!
@flighhyer: did you find any solution to your problem? i'm having the same problem as well. Please let me know if there is a work around to this problem .
