I purchased the dedicated RAM ,Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and SSD modules from Udoo store and mounted the parts to get started. The only thing that I did not do is, I went for a separate adapter to power the board instead of the one that was mentioned on the Udoo website I went with this AC adapter https://www.dell.com/en-sg/shop/kit...snp/apd/450-19185/pc-accessories#tabs_section I tried to power and the power LED toggles itself between orange and green color and the fan tries to move and stops. Wanted to know if it is because of the AC adapter or am I missing anything? Kindly clarify
It's most likely due to no bootable media. Try to use a bootable USB flash drive (e.g., Windows installation on USB flash drive or a Ubuntu flash driver installation media) to test it out.
Aren't Dell Laptop power supplies 19.5V? Just asking as it is related to a previous post/question of mine and the most probable answer was it needs 19V.
Yes...!! I had the Windows installer on the bootable USB and tried powering it up. it did not work...!! Please refer to the links below. I used to USB bootable pendrive that had windows imager https://www.itemfix.com/v?t=o91iy6 [Udoo Bolt V8 with recommended RAM modules] https://www.itemfix.com/v?t=jdmimf [Udoo Bolt V8 with incompatible RAM]
Did you end up fixing the problem. I am having the same problem i.e. no display on startup. The fan tries to turn, but does not turn. I have used different power supplies including the one that came with the bolt and also other USB C power supplies. Different monitors, HDMI cables, RAM modules. Also tried to boot up with and without USB bootable ubuntu.
I got a similar problem on my Bolt some time ago. Since it was still under warranty after some back-and-forth with support I ended up getting the Bolt + Power supply replaced via an RMA and the replacement has worked fine ever since. I never did find out what was the actual cause of the problems, but I was happy with the fact that UDOO fixed it with the replacement.
