Hi All, I've been working for quite a while on how to make your own Debian based Xbmc image. To make things simple and digestible by all, this tutorial comes in 3 parts. Create your work environment and the Image environment Compile the Linux Kernel Compile XBMC and move the final image to your sdcard I chose github simply because the platform allows anyone to fork my work. So, feel free to contribute and submit your pull requests. Thanks PS: Cross-posting this with the debian forum.
I really appreciate the kitchen aid. There seems to be a configuration file missing. In: conf/bootfs.txt needs to be provided. What should it look like? Thanks again!
hi, could you provide us an final image of xbmc based debian to download ? Greetings and thanks for your work
I will be also interested to get the final image, it's a little bit hard to me. Is someone could send the image for UDOO quad?
Hi all, Sorry but I won't be able to provide any image at this stage. If you look at the forum threads you should already some. I provide the documentation to anyone willing to cook, as a learning base if you prefer. Cheers
Hi MultivlaaiTaart You have to create that directory based on the resources provided at the bottom of each page. Though, keep in mind that the current version of the tutorial contains a lot of errors and missing bits. Nothing major, but just annoying enough. I'm planning to publish a new revised version very soon.
Hi, @MultivlaaiTaart I found UDOO_defconfig elsewhere (kernel/arch/arm/configs/UDOO_defconfig kernel/.config) and it seems to work. @aureq I forked your git to submit some changes, I hope I'm doing it well 'cause it's pretty new to me. Don't hesitate to tell me I'm wrong and forgive my poor level of english... Thank you for your work
aureq i tried to follow your guide but failed horribly. Care to share the image? =) I'd LOVE to have a version of XBMC that runs on debian, it would solve my issues (steam + xbmc)
