Hello. I have a Quad Udoo with touch screen 7 "Android OS installed in my car and I use as GPS and onboard computer, and now wanted a camera set you parking. My question is if you can somehow connect an input signal of composite video (RCA) to the card or directly to the screen. The idea is that cualdo put the car reversing camera lights and send video signal is displayed. Thank you very much. I leave a photo so you can see how good is your card and display in my car.
Use something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-VGA-2A...491?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2339943b to input signal directly to the lcd. Note, that you need to report model of your lcd to ebay merchant so he can flash proper firmware to the controller.
Thanks for the reply, but I have some doubts. How to connect the card Udoo this controller and if the touch of the screen will follow the running. My lcd is selling Udoo on your page, the 7 inch. Thank you very much.
 Could you go over your setup and the hardware you are using for this, such as the GPS, screen, and how you are getting audio out to speakers (amp)? Thinking of doing a similar project so would greatly appreciate any info! Thanks!
Udoo connected trough hdmi to the controller. lvds cable from lcd is connected to the controller. interface for touc screen is connected to udoo itself. In that way you have only one issue. When you switch to rear cam - your touch would work and control android screen ))). Also the following http://openrtd2662.ru/ project exist. It's a custom firmware for controller that adds arduino control to switch between channels and so on. It is under heavy development right now but already implemented features is awesome. Actually I am almost redy for install such configuration (need to integrate screen in the dash). So if you have questions - you are welcome
Hello. First of all I wanted to apologize for taking so long to respond. Of course I will share with you my project, there is no problem. This week I will try to write the specification of hardware I'm using. For now if you want on my Facebook page have videos and photos. https://www.facebook.com/martindiego.costasgonzalez By the way, ask me whatever you want. A greeting.
Awesome, I'm also interested in all the hardware you used as well - such as how you connected the Udoo to your speakers and if you used an amplifier.
Hello. On the topic of audio, I connected the audio output of Udoo card (green connector) to one of the two auxiliary inputs car radio-CD. Both the card and the touch screen are Udoo (Udoo Quad and 7 inch screen), so if I had to extend the cable is coming to the screen, since the size that I had was not enough. For connections using a USB bluetooth adapter that I had and it worked smoothly. For GPS I also use a USB module and the truth that has a very good signal coverage. Also I have running the microphone input, which is stereo, with microphones that had a Asus motheboard. A greeting.
That GPS looks great! Do you had some problems with installing that USB GPS on UDOO or it´s like plug & play and everything works well?
So far I've managed to make it work with an application out there for Android. This is the application that handles the connection of the GPS and makes it all work: Google Now, Maps, Sygic. The only program that is functioning achievement TomTom GPS sensing but not able to catch the signal. App: You Are Here GPS https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.agbooth.usbgps&hl=es
That's a great project, really. Simple, smart, fast! In a couple of weeks we'll launch a contest where you can participate with this project (if you want) and try to win (i can't say the prizes now, surprise . Stay tuned and great job again!
Very good project I need to increase the power of the touch screen or the camera to be placed on a cart. What cable I use to increase the display cable? And finally it by using a camera or other RCA to place at the rear of the vehicle? I await your response in advance thank you very much.
Hi everyone, for those who don't know yet you can read the entire guide of the project on Hackster.io: https://www.hackster.io/mdcostas/carpc-android1-bad815
Thanks Andrea, but that project has some things missing that's why I'm asking on both sides and trying to contact the author
