I think you could probably experiencing some power issues, what power supply are you using? Do you have another PS to try?

The cause could be the lack of the emulated/external SD card on Android OS. In other words, the browser doesn't know "where" to save downloaded...
My suggestion was about using 2 micro SD card, one for Android and one for Ubuntu, so you don't have to flash the OS every time, and you're good...
At the moment audio under Android works only over HDMI, we know this narrow down the possibilities and we are working on it.
