Why can that fan not be PWMed? I think all 3 pin fans can be slowed down by pulsing the 5V at some appropriate frequency.
Interesting. I have one of those on my 3D printer. I might do a swap!
Some boards were shipped with a later BIOS. This is why it is even more crazy that BIOS version has not been made available for those of use who...
Maybe, perhaps none of my other devices use UEFI. Looks like a big step backwards to me because I never had a device where the BIOS could not...
Yes there is something wrong with the Bolt BOIS that means it doesn't POST on some perfectly good monitors. It only works on my TV. Once booted...
Are you saying it is so load it is a safety issue? I agree it is very irritating but not a safety problem. If you have a fan that is not spinning...
Yes but all the HDMI specs are supposed to be backward compatible and I don't think the BIOS needs to care about DRM or put out a 4K signal, etc....
Define proper? All my devices except UDOO Bolt work with any HDMI cable and any monitor. There is something wrong with the UDOO bolt HDMI...
I had to use an UDOO HDMI cable and my TV to see the BIOS. For some reason the ports are very picky as the first HDMI cable I used works with all...
Mine is working on CN8 with Ubuntu and I have a monitor connected to CN9.
Oh and I had to use an official UDOO HDMI cable because it didn't work with a normal one that works on other SBCs, including UDOO quad.
I had exactly the same symptoms because the BIOS does not output anything on my Asus monitors. The board was actually running though and would...
Was the stray loop from the coil near the driver chip? Brushless fan drivers usually have a Hall effect sensor to magnetically sense the position...
That is a driver to make a brush-less fan, not for driving an already complete fan.
I have a green dot but my fan works fine.
I am a lot closer than 1m though, more like 150mm.
I used Spectrum Analyze free version. With Spectroid I see a peak at 16875.
My phone can hear a peak at 16860.5Hz when it is near the Bolt. It is a long time since I could hear frequencies that high.
When it does spin is it quite noisy and powerfull? Needing to be started manually would imply one coil is not working or it is a 12V fan on 5V....
Note that the fan only spins occasionally unless the Bolt is working on something very CPU intensive.
