    Hi!

Very interested in this for a hobby embedded project.

I already have a hobby OS which runs (very minimally) on x86 and x86-64 bit. Are there any components on this board that won't have enough open documentation to write drivers?

    Cheers,
    Adam

My guess would be 'no, there will be no components that won't have open documentation', but I'm not a part of UDOO.

    UDOO themselves state:
I'm not sure what the 'end of campaign' exactly means maybe that is when they start the fulfilment of backer's orders. I thought that for the UDOO Neo you could find the BOM in their github repository.

A hobby OS... hmm... Where did we hear that before....

Documentation will be available on the UDOO website. Also, as the X86 embeds a full Arduino 101, there's a lot of documentation already available https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Arduino101
The Arduino 101 is connected internally via an onboard USB connection that is able to operate as a virtual serial connection, or as a USB human interface device, like a keyboard or mouse.
