I have created a number of 'bootable microSD' following the Linux guidelines using different microSDs and different computers all running Ubuntu 16.04 and I have been unable to boot from anything other than the Internal EFI Shell or from Linux installed on a SSD with efi boot installed.
It would appear to me that the microSD needs an EFI boot installed?
If this is true how am I to do that? I not found anything with respect making a bootable microSD bootable in startup tutorials.
What do I need to do to add an EFI boot to a microSSD?

UDOO Quad? Or the x86? Suspect this is in the wrong forum.
