HDMI cable for Display ports

I am having difficulties with DP to HDMI cables for my Ultra. The cable supplied by UDOO works just fine on both display ports but a separately sourced active cable does not. Any monitor connected via this cable is correctly recognised by Windows (model, resolution, etc.) but there is no video.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas gratefully received.

If I'm not mistaken, to connect a HDMI monitor to a (mini) DisplayPort output you don't need an active cable. The active cable is for the opposite situation, connecting a HDMI output to a DisplayPort monitor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Comparison_with_HDMI

 

Thanks jj. I was coming to the same conclusion. I just happened to have an active cable and thought it might work. Time to get a passive cable I guess.
