How do I install the IDE necessary to work with the UDOO Arduino Due board using an external Linux PC without affecting my current Arduino 1.6.8 IDE? Would a second account on the Linux machine help?
You can't. You have to use the proper version stated in the documentation and install Arduino IDE in a different folder.
