So I was started to play with i2c today. As I was plugging in some pins on my board from a battery with a microchip in it, I put both the positive and negative from the chip into the 3.3v and 5v in the GPIO pins on the board. The board shutdown immediately and when I re-powered it, I get an orange light and the fan run for half a second. Nothing pops up on the screen either. Did I just fry my board? Or is there some chance of redemption here.

Well that's a big oops there!! The only possible solution I can think of is to remove the RTC battery and all other power sources. Also remove all external devices as m2 ssd, WiFi, usb devices etc. Leave the board for a couple of minutes and reconnect the battery and try to connect 12V and a monitor and see what happens.

Well, I took off every source of power and external devices from the board and left it like that overnight. However, its still dead. Looks like I'm buying another board!
