Hi guys! I have a 2280 m.2 ssd, I already know udoo x86 only supports 2242-2260 but I was thinking if I could put it without using screws, the ssd is key b and since there isn't anything in the board pcb that block the Ssd from being placed in the slot it seemed to me a good idea.
My understanding of the M.2 socket, is the fixture hole not only secures the module in place, but also provides an additional connection to ground for the module. I'd recommend getting a SATA adapter for M.2 2280, and using the standard SATA port on the UDOO X86. You're welcome! Also, from looking at the Startech range again, I found one with 2.5" housing that will better protect your M.2 drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/708960-starte...inch-sata-iii-adapter-ngff-solid-sat2m2ngff25
