I have plans to make myself a portable Neo.
It passed phase 1 integration, sharing in case others are interested.
For Phase 1 was simply to have the parts talking to each other, and not yet packaged all together, but with parts I have on-hand.
For Phase 2 I will get the physical parts mounted and working toward a more permanent solution.
For Phase 3 will be optimization, battery pack for portability, and polish it to look nice tbd.

    ---
    BOM
Neo Extended (any version will work)
HDMI panel, PSU, and Driver board (not a touch screen but I had one from a raspi project handy)
    Keyboard + trackpad
    Battery pack (tbd)
Portable Case w/builtin Keyboard (part to be used in Phase 1.5)
Power Supply (combined to power display, usb hub, and neo tbd)

    ---
    Notes:
My goal was to be able to work on my Neo as a couch potato while watching TV.

I simply hooked up the parts and it is working. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to fiddle with hdmi settings at all.
I am using Neo software release from Dec 23 2015.
For now I have the hdmi panel resting on a wire stand, next step is to put it into the planned keyboard case.
I have had great success using the logitech portable keyboard touch pad with all manner of projects so I tend to start with it as a baseline.
In a different thread earlier today I left my notes of trying out the portable case with keyboard and the attempt to use the USB OTG port with the keyboard, so I could use the full size USB A port for a wireless mouse. That was not successful, but using a USB hub to connect keyboard and a pointing device will be successful for now. The problem is surely OTG related.
Of course a touchscreen would be optimal, but that is a separate experiment.
I have a UDoo Quad with a 15" touchscreen, but it is not supported on Neo via LVDS yet, so I am working with what I have handy.
I may try cannibalizing the official raspi 7" touchscreen also to see how well it does canned.

    more soon...
PS: i have some other projects that I will share for those that are interested. I recall there was some where/way to do this on the Udoo site, I will figure that out in the mean time.

    ciao for now

    Hi there!
In order to share the project this is the best place (at least it's the official one :))
