I just received my starter kit cables, and among them was the third usb cable that connects just behind the two micro usb ports. I'm curious what the purpose of this cable/port is? The other two are for programming remotely, how/why would I use this one? There may be some interesting applications that I am not yet aware of.
Hi, It is a standard USB, you can use this if you need more USB ports or connect some USB devices inside a case/box containing UDOO
Related question: could I connect a powered USB hub to the internal usb connector, and then grab 5v power from the J23 bank to power the hub (assuming I am using a sufficiently large power supply - say 12v/5amp)? This would then allow you to chain a theoretically large number of devices to the Udoo. Say 4 HDDs (obviously there's a limit on max throughput when adding more devices to the same USB port, but still useful for scenarios where large storage space is more important than speed)?
