I am making a robot I have a motor driver that is connected to my UDOO and it will drive four 48:1 DC gearmotors which will turn 65mm low-profile wheels. What sort of rechargeable battery options do I have? I don't want to purchase a random rechargeable battery I find on the web. Motor Driver Link Robot Kit Link
Hi Murat, for example you could use NI-MH - we have used it sometimes. Let us know if you liked it! Cheers Andrea
Can I connect 11.1 V to the External Battery connector on the UDOO, and if so what is ExtBat part number called? I am asking so I can get the right adapter to connect from my battery to the UDOO board. Alternatively is the DC-in jack a 5mm or 3.5mm jack?
Murat, I'm not sure I understood correctly so bear with me. The extBat connector is for the rtc. (real time clock) I'm pretty sure connecting anything higher than 3v might damage the board. If it is this connector you're looking for, then this is the housing: here If you want to power the udoo, like you do with the 12V DC barrel plug, you want to connect to connector DC-in (j25). It uses this housing. You probably want a 12V battery. I'm pretty sure you could use a 3S LiPo battery (~11.1V) or a Ni-MH battery like Rovai suggested. The most common 12v batteries are lead acid (like a car battery) but they'll probably be too heavy if you want the battery attached on the car. Hope this helps you.
