It is normal that the SAM microcontroller gets hot?

It depends on how hot the SAM is. A bit warm is normal, too much of course is something weird.

oh, I see... then is something weird because it gets really hot :( . I was wondering if could it be a capacitor, I don't know how, when, or why this happened but a corner of a capacitor broke. Could this be allied to the fact that the SAM gets hot? I attached a picture of the capacitor.

Eek, that looks like a cap that got too much current and popped...

any idea why the SAM overheats? It gets really hot after more or less 10 seconds after power on. It could be a short-circuit, right? but I checked all the pins of the iMX.6, they are all inputs, except the pins 0 and 1 (gpio116 and gpio 112 respectively) I can not check them, don't know why. I also upload a blank sketch to the SAM... I believe that for default all pins become inputs doing this... where could it be a short

yea its highly likely something is wrong with the board, i did a lot of thermal testing (links below) and the SAM3X8 chip never got that hot. It is probably that broken cap, def get that ticket opened and see if it can be replaced.
