i would just like to recommend for the future to look at the NoIR (no IR Filter) option that RPi did with theirs. i have one from them and its really cool for lots of projects. just something to think about
is/will there be a way of attaching 2 (or more?) cameras at the same time, as i believe at least the CPU on the Quad version is capable of this
theoretically yes, practically difficult. Only one camera's worth of physical connection is present by the look of it.
on further examination it unfortunately looks that way, with CSI_D2_DN, CSI_D2_DP, CSI_D3_DN, CSI_D3_DP not connected to anything (sheet 12 of http://udoo.org/download/files/schemati ... matics.pdf), that is unless the quad version has a different schematic or can somehow get cameras to only use a single data channel
Cheese seems not to see it, so I too was thinking it was not working, but.. Installed VLC: Code: sudo apt-get install vlc And then connected to the webcam: Code: vlc v4l2:///dev/video0 and a window popped up with my living room live! PS: note that in "v4l2" the 3rd character is an "L" not a number one. That's "V4L2" but lowercase.
Hi guys! The camera works perfectly with Ubuntu but not in Android (UDOO dual). When i open the Camera application Android says: "Unfortunately, Camera has stopped". Any tips? Thx!
Hello, The 5MP camera arrived from Italy, and Managed to get the ribbon cable plugged into it. However, I'm experiencing some difficulty in getting the camera ribbon cable plugged into the connector on the Udoo quad board. Any advice on how to insert the camera ribbon cable into the connector on the Udoo Quad board will be appreciated. ADVthanksANCE Larry
Hi! The flat cable must be put to camera with the blue side above. The same cable must be put parallel to UDOO board by putting the blue side at the left side (looking the board with ethernet connector down).
Thank you very much for your kind response to my inquiry. I did manage to get the ribbon cable inserted into the connector on the camera without too much difficulty. However, getting the cable securely inserted into the ribbon connector on the Udoo board isn't working for me. I did manage once to get the cable somewhat loosly inserted into the Udoo board connector with the cable perpendicular to the Udoo board/extending upward from the top of the Udoo board. I flipped the brown retainer up, inserted the cable with blue-side toward the brown retainer, and latched the retainer down, but the connection was very loose. I think a couple of photographs from the Udoo team might be helpful here. Best regards, Larry
I believe I've got the ribbon cable correctly inserted into the connector on the camera: However, getting the ribbon cable inserted into the camera connector on the Udoo Quad board is a bit of an issue. I'm unsure exactly where to insert it, and when I am (after a struggle) able to manage to insert it beyond the brown retainer bar in this photograph, it is not held tightly enough to make good contact. So, I'm not sure I'm inserting it in the right place, or if the connector is faulty. Please post your suggestions and experience with this issue. ADVthanksANCE Larry
