Hi all, Revised the design today and will be cutting a sample soon. Bear with me on time, As I'm sure we all are, I'm extremely busy, but I will try and finalise things as soon as I can. Thanks for ongoing interest and support. As to organising payment/ordering, does anyone have any suggestions beyond say just an ebay listing or direct paypal payments that would be simple to setup?
Is it possible to see the final design? I'm looking to do a 3.5" 4TB drive, is it possible to make a modification of the final design to support this size of HD?
I'll post the final design once I cut one. Bear in mind it's very similar to the one I've already posted, it was more just sorting out a few issues than any major changes.
Very nicely done case design. Are you considering access for camera, GPIO, and display ribbon cables? Perhaps another top or two would address those issues.
You have access to the camera (And SATA) with existing design. I was going to add GPIO access but I preferred just to have the lid easily removable, to use the GPIO pins as and when needed. But if the community would prefer to have direct access I can easily add it. I can also add LVDS access if that would be popular as well?? @jerichodee - bear with me on a design to incorporate a HDD, I know a few people are interested in it. Priority for now is this design which should suit most people.
Regarding payment suggestions, the hosting company I use for my web sites includes all the shopping cart and web design tools you could need. Getting a web site up quickly shouldn't be difficult at all. And while direct acceptance of credit cards through the use of bank merchant accounts is certainly doable, PayPal does offer a level of security and simplicity that may be immediately accomplished. With regard to egress of cabling through the case, I'm thinking you might offer several case-top designs as optional products to suit different applications. Or perhaps, you might leave all the cutouts in place with thin supports that could be knocked out as required by the customer. Who knows? You may have to quit your day job soon.
