Hi Guys, After quiete a while fiddling with OpenCv, i finally managed to get it running and managed to write my own code on interacting with static images. Today i was up to getting a Webcam up an running. Without to much success.. HAS ANYONE MANAGED TO GET A CAM RUNNING? Is the GSPCA-Modul actually missing? And why the hell are ther several "videoN"-Files in my dev-folder even if i never used a WebCam on my Udoo?! Looking forward for some Help! Regards J p.s. cheese does not work but one can use streaming in vlc-player to test the setup!
Re: While Waitung for the official Camera: Working with Webc I think that you need a webcam with UVC support, but I am not a xpert.
Re: While Waitung for the official Camera: Working with Webc Why should uvc do any diffrence? I have been reading on recompiling the needed drivers (i think it was vo535 for my device) But am a bit afraid on doing changes in the kernel...
Re: While Waitung for the official Camera: Working with Webc Linux supports UVC, which is a different protocol than that used by the webcams. Not all support this webcam driver-protocol. Such cameras are normally used to OpenCV, ROS robotics etc. I am not new, but it's the conclusion that I found then informed me, in fact, I bought three chambers M $ Lifecam HD-6000 for my robot with USB support and should work without problem with linux, udoo, OpenCV and ROS. I suppose that if Udoo should also work with normal webcam.
Re: While Waitung for the official Camera: Working with Webc Please post your update on OpenCV progress
Re: While Waitung for the official Camera: Working with Webc Yesterday I received 3 UVC cameras. Better quality better than expected, I knew I was good, but not quite. Try installing from another microSD Udoo Ubuntu 13.04 armhf + Core ROS, not fuy able, I did 3 different ways without success. When checking the card, I checked it was damaged, and it was new, it might be that, or I'm very new. The UVC camera recognizes the first since the driver is included in ubuntu. Try to install Skype to test the cameras, but tube problems and I could not install it. OpenCV should compile it, and I have left when you have more time, since it does not compile. Hare another attempt with ROS, as I think I saved the SD card.
