HackUMass, the largest hackathon in Pioneer Valley, is coming back to University of Massachusetts, Amherst on October 7-9th, this time with even more hackers and hardware and awesomeness.
HackUMass is a tech gathering of the most ambitious, talented and creative hackers from all over the country to build innovative software and hardware products, with the goal in mind to build a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment for all tech enthusiasts alike.
Over 600 hackers are supposed to take part this time. It’s a year over year increase for HackUMass, that last year drew 400 people from all around the world, mostly from the New England area but also from distant locations such as California, Washington, Georgia and Texas. Also, HackUMass Third Edition partnered with MLH and had many notable sponsors including Microsoft, Verizon, Google, and Fitbit.
This year as last year we’re sponsor of the event, providing UDOO boards for participants to use in their projects and also free swag. You’ll also see us at our booth in the person of Gianfranco Comune.
This is not our first ride with HackUMass and we’re happy to confirm. Here a couple of photos from our participation at HackUMass 2015.

If you’re new to HackUMass and you’re anywhere near the Pioneer Valley you should come along. Also, the area is the cradle of the most prestigious universities in the world, like Yale, Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Brown etc. It’s totally free to attend and there’s a lot of interesting people to meet in a spirit of openness and innovation.
It’s still July, but you can already pre-register now.
Don’t forget it!
