You’ve heard of Maker Faire Rome all over the makerverse. And you are a backer of UDOO X86 / you’ve preordered UDOO X86 / you are considering to preorder UDOO X86, but still you need some answers.
Maker Faire Rome 2016 is the place where you’ll get them.
Show up at our booth, Pavillion 7, Booth D24-D25, and you’ll have the chance to put your hands on the board and test its true power. We couldn’t ask for anything better than you, guys and girls, at our booth, playing with the board that you made possibile!
You’ll also be happy to know that we will also have three 4K screens with us to prove you that UDOO X86 can drive them all at the same time. We know you can’t believe it if you don’t see it, but this means only one thing: that you’re going to see it, at Maker Faire Rome!
If after the vision of three 4K screens driven at the same time by UDOO X86 you’re still unsatisfied, then show up at Intel’s booth, where you’ll be glad to see a UDOO X86 running Open Elec and exploiting the onboard Arduino 101-compatible microcontroller – in other words, you’re going to see an Ambient Light System made with UDOO X86. A pretty cool thing to have for your 4K television, isn’t it?
Not to mention retrogaming. We’ll have a UDOO X86 ready for Street Fighter 2 and tons of other old glories all day long.
And of course, we’ll also be there to answer your questions. Wanna talk about your next IoT project? Share your point of view? We’ll be there for you.
This is a short summary. The hot stuff is yet to come.
This year at Maker Faire Rome swing by at our booth: we have a challenge for you! After that video about gaming with UDOO X86 we’ve been asked maaaaaaaaany many times about the videogaming capabilities of UDOO X86, and now it’s the time to give you more exhaustive answers. And what better way to give you answers than providing a hands-on experience?
The game we’ve chosen is Trackmania 2 Canyon, running on UDOO X86 Basic, loaded on the UDOO X86’s M.2 SSD. It’s an arcade game in the likes of Need for Speed where, guess what, you’ll have to get to the finish line the fastest you can. It’s not the latest AAA game, nevertheless it will drive you crazy. Especially because the experience will involve a steering wheel as well as accelerators and brake pedals: a supercar driving experience from A to Z!
And it doesn’t stop there.
Each day the racer that will score the fastest lap of the day will be awarded at our booth at 18 o’ clock with a UDOO Neo Extended!
Finally UDOO Blu will also make its first public appearance. (Well, to be specific this is not its first public appearance. We also showcased and tested it at Embedded World 2016, but we have been in stealth mode till the Kickstarter campaign of UDOO X86, when we announced UDOO Blu as third Stretch Goal – but unless you showed up in Nuremberg last February this is the first time you can test it in real life.)
UDOO Blu, together with UDOO Neo, will make the UDOO Smart City come alive.
Imagine a bunch of UDOO Bricks, i.e. UDOO official I2C modules and sensors, connected to UDOO Neo in a cascade configuration, connected in turn to some UDOO Blu, all taking one another. It’s a PLAYMOBIL® hack, and is our take on smart cities. Do you like it? Drop us a line in the comments. We are looking forward to show you the flexibility of UDOO Bricks.
There will be SORky as well: isn’t this exciting? This could be the first time you give a high five to a robot!
Lots of you, particularly in the “UDOO Italia” group on Telegram, are curious to know if we are going to sell UDOO boards at the faire.
YES!!!
You’ll still have to buy the board from our website, but we’ll be able to give you the board in hand, no need for shipping.
Of course we are talking about the boards that already are on sale: UDOO Neo and UDOO Dual/Quad. In poor words, UDOO X86 won’t be on sale at Maker Faire Rome – and anyway, we have to ship to Kickstarter backers before anything else.
Do you want a UDOO X86? For now you have to preorder it.
What else to say?
If you can’t come along, follow our stream on our social media channels, where we’ll share live photos and videos from the faire.
We can’t wait for Friday!
