Hey UDOOers, let’s face it. We’re Italian, and to us pride is important. One of the things we’re most proud of in UDOO, is that we’re Made in Italy.
Made in Italy is used as a badge of pride and quality in a variety of industries. You have surely seen it in food, art, fashion and cosmetics. But it doesn’t stop there. Quality, to us Italians, is a way of life and in the industry of electronics, Italian wares are known for their quality products for industries and specialistic fields. The International Space Station uses an Italian team to support them in the neverending engineering that keeps the Space Station going.
The UDOO boards are designed in Siena (Tuscany) and are assembled and shipped from Arezzo (Tuscany). They’re designed by a young team of engineers based in Siena, here’s a not so recent (thank you 2020) picture of the design team

The team in Siena is the creative core of UDOO. They think of the new products and turn them into real projects, ready to reach you and sure to make you happy. Creative rhymes with chaos, and the design team is an example of how chaotic energy at work makes great things happen from nothing.
The UDOO products are manufactured, assembled and shipped from Arezzo. That’s where the operations team is. Their job is to turn the projects of the design team into reality, get them to the market and make sure there’s a steady stream of them. Their approach is efficiency first, and their goal is to always get the result. The factory itself is quite large and a number of products are manufactured there, not just the UDOO boards.
Nowadays, most electronics are produced completely in China and then shipped to us westerners. Goods manufactured in China are, more often than not, produced in unsafe environments for the workers, that have low wages and impossibly long working hours. We didn’t want to join this little party, and we want to make our (small) part by manufacturing our products in Italy, where workers enjoy fair wages and working conditions.
At UDOO, we understand that most companies do that because the competition is impossible and everyone does it, but we decided that having more expensive products is worth it.
We also wanted to be sure to have high quality products, sure to be performing great today, tomorrow and every day after that. Our high quality, industrial grade boards are our pride and joy, and we’ proud to sell them knowing that they will last years and years in our clients’ hands.
